Drivers License Requirements

All drivers must be in possession of a full-unendorsed driver's license at the time of rental. (Certain minor endorsements may be acceptable, please call us prior to booking). All drivers must have held a full driver's license for at least 24 months prior to hiring a van with Flexxivan and must present themselves with their full-unendorsed driver's license at the pick up location at the time of rental.

Age Requirements & Restrictions*

Own Insurance Policy

Drivers must be over 21 years of age and have held their full license for at least 24 months prior to the date of pickup. There is no upper age limit.

Our Insurance

The minimum age to rent a van is 25. Drivers must have held their fully, unendorsed license for at least 24 months prior to the date of pickup. The maximum age for renting a commercial vehicle on our insurance is 70.

Own Insurance Policy

Any persons covered comprehensively on your insurance policy will be insured to drive our vehicle.

Our Insurance

Additional drivers can be added locally for an additional charge of £10 per day per driver. Drivers must be at least 25 years of age and have held a full drivers license for at least 24 months prior to hiring a van. The maximum age to be a named driver on a commercial vehicle is 70.

Insurance Cover/Transfers

Insurance can be provide  on commercial vehicle. This is subject to certain criteria and a deductible of £1700. This deductible cannot be reduced. Drivers must possess a full drivers license for at least 24 months prior to the pick up date and must be at least 25 years of age. Insurance is purchased online at the time of pickup. If you have your own fully comprehensive motor policy you may wish to transfer this onto our vehicle on a temporary basis. This is subject to your insurance company agreeing to do so. VRI will complete the initial insurance transfer to our vehicle. However the hirer is responsible for ensuring fully comprehensive cover is provided on our vehicle at all times during the rental.

Going Abroad

Hirers leaving Ireland in one of our vehicles must provide their own fully comprehensive insurance and also purchase AA Five Star Cover. This is an excellent service giving travelers roadside assistance and numerous other benefits, also in the event of an accident the vehicle will be shipped back to the Republic of Ireland.

Methods of Payment

For reservations made via the internet Flexxivan accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club credit cards. Unfortunately Flexxivan are unable to process payment on Debit Cards for internet bookings. When clients arrived to pick up their vehicle they must be in possession of and present to Flexxivan a major credit card held in the main drivers name. This credit card must have sufficient funds to cover the cost of the vehicle, Unfortunately Flexxivan cannot accept cash as a method of payment. We regret we cannot accept the credit card of a third party who will not be present at the time of the rental.

Speeding - Parking and other Endorsements/ Fines

Speeding - Parking and other Endorsements/ Fines are the responsibility of the hirer in full. Flexxivan accepts no responsibility for any fine or payment. The renter is obliged to inform us of any fines or parking tickets issued whilst the renter is using the vehicle.

Van Types Available

Flexxivan operates a fleet with many different makes and models of vans which can be seen on this site. Whilst every effort will be made to supply the reserved model, we reserve the right to supply a suitable alternative. Unfortunately due to our extended fleet we cannot guarantee a particular make or model and vehicles shown on our website are only examples of what we have on fleet. All vans are equipped with manufacturer's radios and CD players.

Baby Seats - Child Seats

Please note babyseats are not permitted in commercial vehicles

Grace Period

Please note there is no grace period on commercial vehicle rentals. Additional charges are incurred once the rental extends its original return date/time.

* Please note that at all times the final discretion rests with the Flexxivan agent as to whether a booking is completed. In the highly unlikely event that the Flexxivan agent is not completely satisfied with a drivers credentials/qualifications we reserve the right to refuse to release a rental van.
